Amy Butler Rugs For Chandra
We finally got some images for the Amy Butler rugs for Chandra. Have you seen it? You have to be a little bit wild for this one, as the colors are very bright and the patterns are really bold. But it's kinda perfect when you are in the floral, springy kinda mood...
This collection runs betweeen $800 for a 5 x 7 to $1800 for a 8 x 10. It will be posted on our site soon...

Very Cool Modern Rugs from Mats-The Basics
We found a really great rug line that we just have to share with you. Despite the clunky name, they make wonderful modern rugs that are stylish yet clean-lined and simple. That's so hard to find, don't you think so? Many contemporary rugs are a bit too austere, too severe perhaps.
Here are some of our favorites:
The rugs runs between $500 for a 5x7 to $1500 for a 8 x 12. They are very well-made too. Most are made with 100% New Zealand wool, hand-tufted.
We'll be loading these up on our rugs section next week, so please check back soon.

Martha Stewart Rugs for Safavieh
We're a bit obsessed with rugs lately. It's probably because we're working on launching our new rug site and that's all we been seeing for the last two weeks.
Have you seen the Martha Stewart rug collection for Safavieh? It's not a new collection--in fact, it's been around for a while. We're seeing some new patterns that we really like though. Check them out:

What do you think? They are so Martha Stewart-ist, aren't they? One thing you can say about Martha, she's consistent in her style/taste.
These rugs are not too expensive. They run about $250 for a 4x6 to $1500 for a 9x13.

Candice Olson Rugs for Surya
We love Candice Olson's TV show on HGTV. Her style is fresh and modern yet approachable. It's not like Kelly Wearstler's where things look amazing but then you think to yourself-- who has that kind of money and that kind of life?
Anyway, Candice Olson just did a collection of rugs for Surya and it very much reflects her aesthetics. They are not too expensive (about $1000 for a 8 x 10 or so, less, obviously, for smaller sizes...).
Here are some really pretty ones:

You can see the entire collection in our modern rug section or Surya's web site.

New Rugs from Safavieh
We're always amazed at how the right accessories can just transform a room. It's like taking a plain girl and putting the right makeup, hairdo and fantastic shoes on her. It makes a huge, huge difference.
When we pick out home accessories, we usually look for rugs first. It's because most rugs are instant focal points. There are so much to choose from, and because they are not too expensive (if you pick out the right one)-- you can interchange them easily.
Here are some from Safavieh Rugs that we like. They are fun, bright, well-made, and gently-priced (an 8 x 10 is less than $1000).

Pretty Rugs from Safavieh
Spring is in the air! Can you just smell it? In Los Angeles where we live, it was the perfect 75 -degree, clear blue sky, sunny day. The hills are green and the wild flowers are blooming. It's so pretty we can hardly stand it. Despite what people say about LA, parts of it are quite stunning.
Spring also makes us want to clean up the house, wash the windows and spiff things up a bit. We find the best way to spiff things up is to add some colors to the house. Switch out the lamp shades (yes, you can buy different lamp shades and voila, it's like a brand new lamp), get some fresh flowers, and buy a couple of new rugs.
We like the Soho collection of rug from Safavieh quite a bit. It's totally fresh, modern and fun. It's also not too expensive either (about $1200-1500 for a 8 x 10)
Here are some samples from the Soho line:
